Social Action Center for Vulnerable Individuals (SACVI)
His name is Andre Lutula Lefils, the Founder and Executive Director of the Social Action Center for Vulnerable Individuals (SACVI). Our vision is to empower communities through education, sustainable living, and peacebuilding. From after-school programs for children in Kakuma Refugee Camp to promoting permaculture and environmental preservation, my work is driven by a desire to create opportunities for those in need and inspire hope for a brighter future.
Mr André Lutula-Lefis has set himself the goal of providing his children and young people with a secure place to live. To this end, he and his members have drawn up a plan to build a primary school similar to those commonly found in Kenya. The building, which is made of dried mud bricks and has a corrugated iron roof, will cost approximately €520.00 to complete.

What is the school structure in Kenya?
Information-Link (Germany) “LMU“
The language of instruction in primary school is the students’ mother tongue for the first three years, e.g. Kikamba or Kimeru. From the fourth grade onwards and in secondary school, the language of instruction is English, which is easy for students of biology education to master.
Primary School, Secondary School
8 years (class 1-8, pupils) 4 years (form 1-4, students)
Subjects: Kiswahili, English, mathematics, science (PCB), social science
Compulsory subjects: Kiswahili, English, mathematics
Elective subjects: various combinations of chemistry, biology, physics, business, social science
In class 8, the same exams are taken throughout Kenya In form 4, the same exams are taken throughout Kenya
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education is required for admission to secondary school The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education is required for admission to university
A new school structure is being developed and is due to be completed by 2026. After that, primary school will comprise grades 1 to 6, the newly formed junior secondary school will comprise grades 7 to 9, and senior secondary school will comprise grades 10 to 12.
The state pays most of the teachers‘ salaries and a small portion of the books. The municipality is responsible for building and equipping schools, while parents must pay for school uniforms, shoes, work materials and some of the teachers’ salaries. In secondary school, official school fees are added. Those who cannot pay the school fees, which average around 70 euros per term, are not allowed to attend classes.

The UNHCR Kakuma Camp III is in the north of Kenia.
The UNHCR Camp III Kakuma is located in northern Kenya. Kenya wants to naturalise all migrants who wish to become citizens. Unfortunately, however, Kenya does not want to invest in the camp’s infrastructure. This means that the burden continues to fall on the UNHCR and its international donors.
Unfortunately, the political situation around the world has changed dramatically with the new US president. China, which may want to be the future superpower in Asia, is actively withdrawing from UNHCR contributions because it still considers itself a developing country. Thus, in the eyes of NADEUM, all major powers are ‘wannabe superpowers’. Their strength is based solely on their military power. In terms of their humanitarian obligations, they are small powers in relation to their GDP.
No fees can be charged at UNHCR CAMP III KAKUMA. This is because none of the migrants from the surrounding African countries, such as the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia and Somalia, are able to pay them. Therefore, refugee teachers from the respective countries have set up temporary school buildings here with the consent of the UNHCR. The Kenyan district authority Turkana West Sub-County also approves these schools as long as they comply with Kenyan school laws.
